| Nintendo3DS ![]() Six Years ago the destiny of Nintendo's Hand-held enterprise appeared doomed to breakdown. With higher competition from new entrants into the industry many guessed the global loss of gamings longest standing developer. Yet here we are, 20 years following the release of the first Game Boy, on the cusp of gamings most inspiring new product. Here comes the Nintendo3DS Cheap Nintendo 3DS can be ordered from Amazon right now! So how come the increased hype with the Nintendo 3DS? To understand the seriousness of such a launch, we would initially need to understand why Nintendo are so respected around the world to begin with; To auspiciously answer the question we would need to cast our memories back to September 1990, to share the launch of the original Game Boy; a date when I was just old enough to appreciate the relevance of such an event. Kids around the world were awed by the allowance to take gaming in the move and were treated to such delights as 'Mario Bros.', Tetris and the timeless legend of zelda. A star was indeed born. The success of the original Game Boy didn't halt there. 10 years after and with Sixty million sales behind it, Nintendo released the Game Boy colour which proceeded to create excitement through the souls of teens around the world. Seven Game Boy variations (and near unlimited colour variations) later Nintendo took the next step towards creating the ffuture of the Hand-held Gaming world. Nintendo Dual Screen (DS) The launch of the Nintendo 3ds was welcomed with a sceptic shadow cast over it in December 2004. Foreseeing a period when Sony were expected to take Nintendo's Hand-Held Crown with its 'PSP', many gaming aficionado pondered whether their innovative touch screen would be enough to compete with advanced Playstation graphics. Many assumed the finale of Nintendo's gaming career, particularly with the disappointing reception of the Nintendo Sixty-Four. But here we stand almost 6 years later with Nintendo finding themselves influence the gaming scene. Their commitment to innovation has resulted in an unexpected number of customers and even additional variants of the Nintendo D S (the DS Lite in 2006, Dsi in 2009 and most recently Ds-XL in 2010) before surprisingly disclosing the newest generation Nintendo 3-DS at 2010's E3 conference. Nintendo 3-DSSo what is Nintendo 3dsintroducing to the gaming scene that makes it such an important occurrence? In later sub-articles we will review the progressions that Nintendo's newest hand-held is offering over its predecessors and ponder if you should be parting with your hard earned cash to own the most-strived-for pieces of technology in recent times. 3D Dual Screen TechnologyOK, so this isn't exactly new, but this shouldn't take away from its importance. The DS or Dual screen on the original is the reason that we have found ourselves able to access new ways to experience games and stands for one of the most innovative ideas in gaming today. Initial worries over the need to sport 'unwanted 3D {specs'|glasses' to activate the 3D effect have been cleared with the latest demonstrations. The upper display on Nintendo 3-DS shows a Full colour 5:3, 3.53 inch screen with a 800x240 resolution (400x240 projected to each individual eye) and results in to much anticipated 3 Dimensional affect, while the lower display is a 3.02 inch, 4:3 touch screen similar to previous installations. Newer reports suggest that although no 'specs' are essential to view the 3-D effects the system does need to be held at a particular angle for optimal use. Thankfully Nintendo claims to have done satisfactory research to show that the 'ideal position' (found around 1.5-2ft.) has been catered for, and the 3-D effect will be found in the most comfortable playing position for the average gamer. The is also a slider button that can be found towards the side of the device which makes it possible the user to alter the intensity of the 3-D effect. Found above the directional pad, this is similar to the 'Analogue slider loved on Sony's Playstation Portable unit and will possibly add a more comfortable way of viewing 3D worlds. Double Camera Hardware To increase the innovations surrounding the 3D screen, Nintendo are also equipping the Nintendo 3ds with two cameras on the exterior of the device. This will allow the user to create 3D photos on their Nintendo 3DS. It is also likely that with the new networking innovation users will be enabled to mail these photos directly to other Nintendo3DS users/friends, creating limitless possibilities for the creative. WiFiIn addition to the above; also confirmed for the device, Nintendo3DS increased wifi capabilities makes manageable for players to game with their mates around the world. additional to the ability to receive data even whilst in sleep mode, the possibilities for the creative population are almost unlimited. Release DateWhilst there is no official release date for the system hasn't yet been confirmed though it will most likely be 1 of 2. Nintendo officially announced that the device will be launched at the end of their fiscal year (next April). Though a recent interview suggests that we could see a 'Christmas 2010' launch. Don't be surprised if this shows to be 2010's Holiday Number One!
